Cochin Clinical Society
First CCS meeting of 2009 was held as the January scientific session of Cochin IMA on 28th January at Renaissance Hotel. Dr. Mathew Abraham and Dr. Mahesh presented an interesting case of Ophthalmoplegia due to Hashimottos disease, a treatable entity. This was considered as the best presentation. This was followed by Dr. Vishal and Dr. Thomas Varghese presenting a case of recurrent renal stone which on evaluation turned out to be due to parathyroid adenoma which was rescoted. Thoracic Society presented an interesting case unresolved Pneumonia which on detailed evaluation turned out to be a case of Lymphoma. Dr. Roshan presented an interesting case of Nanophthalmos and presented the difficulties in the cataract surgery in this small eye. The last case was by Dr. Jose Tharayil a case of reconstruction of breast in a aplasia breast. Dr. G.N. Ramesh chaired the session and made the session very interesting. There was a record number of 160 members attending this session.
